Responsible for minimizing loan losses by collecting overdue payments of demand deposit accounts and past due loans, and managing repossessed properties.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Reviews delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.
  • Writes and/or sends correspondence in collection attempts.
  • Recommends accounts for repossession and legal actions against debtors.
  • Assists lenders and subordinates with collection activities in difficult cases.
  • Meet collection past due goals
  • Answer/handle call accounts as necessary. 

Repossessed Properties

  • Manages repossessed properties for resale including servicing of vehicles and the sale of the assets.
  • Make recommendations for servicing for vehicles.
  • Provides all necessary documents to repossession agents used by the bank.
  • Ensures all legal documents are in file on problem credits. These include Right-to-cures, 10-day letters, and deficiency letters.
  • Manages Magistrate actions. This includes filing summons and complaints and filing judgments.
  • File Claim and Deliveries on problem repossessions.
  • Dispose of repossessions in a timely fashion.
  • File VSI insurance claims as necessary. 
  • Work assigned charged off lists and attempt to recover loans previously charged off.
  • Skip trace as needed, utilizing technology available to track and locate non-responsive customers.
  • Support other collection specialists as needed.
  • Assist Collection Manager with reporting to Senior Management team as directed.
